My boyfriend and I spent the night here for my birthday. Not only was it peaceful and relaxing, the domes were beautiful, quaint, and well looked after. This is the perfect place if you're looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway. I can't wait to go back :)
If you’re considering staying here, you definitely need to. I spent a night in the Cedar Dome, where I enjoyed all of the comforts and amenities of home plus more! Surrounded by nature while enjoying their rejuvenating sauna or hot tub - what more could you want?! I also had an opportunity to check out the treehouse, which was also an incredible space and would have been an equally fulfilling escape. And the owners are amazing people who will do everything they can to ensure you have the perfect getaway. I can’t wait to visit again one day.
The domes, treehouse and two bedroom cottage and the retreat building at As the River Bends are first class facilities. My wife and I stayed in the Maple Dome. Everything you need is supplied. Fridge, freezer, 2 burner induction cooktop, drip coffeemaker (not Keurig), toaster, microwave, assortment of spices, pots and pans, outside BBQ, hot tub. What more do you need? There is also a communal sauna on site! There are numerous trails to wander. You are 15-30 minutes from many spots in the Annapolis Valley. The hosts, Mark and Shauna, were friendly and helpful. Would we go back? Absolutely and most likely will in the summer. It is a place to unwind. There is no TV but the internet is strong. Download a movie on your iPad! We are Nova Scotia dome lovers and this place is in the top three of all. They are as follows in no particular order. Pleasant Bay, Wallace and As the River Bends. Don’t hesitate to book!
A truly peaceful and relaxing environment. The accommodations were perfect. The pine treehouse is better then glamping, everything you need is provided . The hostess is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend as it is close to the city of Halifax for a short get away when needed. I have nothing bad to say about this beautiful place.
A great place to get away for a winter weekend. A perfect blend out outdoors and comfort. Highly recommend the sauna add on if your visiting during the winter.
This property is amazing. The geodome had everything I would need and all the extra touches. I was looking for a quiet retreat and this place delivered. Lovely sitting areas around the property and sitting by the river was very refreshing. My evening in the hot tub and my own propane fire pit was a perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend this place. Very enjoyable.
What an amazing place for a winter getaway! We had three wonderful, quiet days in the Maple dome and loved every minute of it. We’ll be sure to get back for a summer stay soon. Thank you for the great birthday getaway!
The place is magical and the hosts are more than helpful and kind. Just what my family needed after a long flight, restful peace and quiet along with fresh air. Highly recommend!!
